A new family doctor is setting up shop in Dresden.
The Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation and the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team have announced that Dr. Malay Shah will be opening a practice at the Dresden Medical Centre this coming November.
Dr. Shah received his undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney in Medicine and Surgery, and completed his fellowship at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Most recently, he worked as a family practice physician at Gateway Health in Australia, and joined the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2023.
Applications to join Dr. Shah’s roster will be available at a one day event at the Wheelhouse at 547 North Street in Dresden on August 22nd from 3-8pm.
A second “collection only” event will then take place August 28th, also at the Wheelhouse, from 5-7pm.
Officials with the Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation say applications will only be valid for residents who are completely without a family doctor, and do not guarantee acceptance. All submissions will be reviewed by Dr. Shah and individuals will be contacted if they are accepted.
