What has become an annual baseball tradition in Chatham-Kent is marking a historic milestone this year.

Saturday marks the 4th annual Field of Honour game, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the 1934 Chatham Coloured All-Stars and their OBAA championship, and honouring baseball’s early roots in Canada.

Saturday’s event at Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham feature descendants of early Black baseball players in a series of charity game.

Admission is by donation with proceeds going to support the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and Black Mecca Museum.

First pitch is set for 11 o’clock.
