A number of activities are being held across Chatham-Kent in the next few weeks leading up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

September 30, also known as Orange Shirt Day, honours survivors of residential schools and the children who never returned home, as well as their families and communities.

This Saturday, September 21, the Wallaceburg branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library is hosting an orange shirt pin making workshop with representatives from the Chatham-Kent Museum and Come Together CK on hand.

All library branches will have orange shirt pin making supplies throughout Truth and Reconciliation Week.

Orange Shirt Day will be marked at the Chatham branch in partnership with Ska:na Family Learning Centre on Friday, September 27 with stories and activities in honour of the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools.
