A Dresden man is facing charges after allegedly attacking another man with mace.
Police were first contacted on Saturday about an alleged assault on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. Authorities say the victim was sprayed with bear mace before the attacker fled. Officers were unable to find the accused and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Monday afternoon, the suspect went to the Wallaceburg police station to retrieve some property from a previous encounter with police and was arrested.
The 28-year-old was taken to police headquarters in Chatham and is now facing several charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, administering a noxious substance, and two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order.
