A local man has been charged after allegedly threatening someone in downtown Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were waived down on Wellington Street West shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities then learned that a man, who had been acting aggressively, threatened the victim during a verbal altercation.
Officers located a suspect in the area of King Street and William Street West at around 9:35 a.m. and took him into custody.
A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with one count of uttering threats. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
