A Wallaceburg man is facing charges after being stopped by a RIDE program in St. Clair Township.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers conducted a traffic stop on Sunday at around 9 p.m. as part of a RIDE checkpoint on Kimball Road.
After speaking with the driver to check his sobriety, officers took him into custody.
As a result, a 64-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and driving with cannabis readily available. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
The man was later released and will answer the charges in court next month.
