Police have made an arrest after a Chatham-Kent resident was bilked out thousands of dollars.
While few details have been released, the Chatham-Kent Police Service said a suspect in a fraud investigation, a 44-year-old Windsor woman, recently turned herself in at police headquarters.
Authorities said the woman allegedly targeted an elderly Chatham-Kent resident and defrauded them out of more than $20,000.
The Windsor woman has since been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000. She was released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
Police said another suspect was involved in the scam but no further details about the incident have been released.
