More Chatham-Kent residents will soon have internet access at home.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library is expanding its collection to include Wi-Fi hotspots.

The devices will be available to be borrowed on a first come, first served basis at branches in Bothwell, Chatham, Highgate, Merlin, Thamesville, Wallaceburg, and Wheatley.

Express hotspots will be available to adult patrons over the age of 16 with a valid library card in good standing, and can be checked out for 7 days with no renewals or holds.

The Wi-Fi hotspot lending program is part of Connect CK, an initiative aimed at reducing the digital divide for local residents. Connect CK is a partnership between CKPL, Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team and Chatham-Kent Employment and Social Services.
