A traffic stop on Highway 401 has led to impaired driving charges for a Wallaceburg man.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer stopped a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway near Duart Road in Chatham-Kent at around 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday.
After speaking with the driver, he was arrested without incident and taken to police headquarters for further testing.
As a result, a 33-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, and speeding. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
The accused will answer the charges in court later this month.
