Wallaceburg Stars Shine at Chamber Awards

A local volunteer is being honoured for his work in the community and efforts to keep kids safe.

Todd Trahan was named the Chip Gordon Citizen of the Year at Wednesday night’s Wallaceburg Business and Community Excellence Awards for his work Cops for Kids gun safety program.

Todd Shepley took home two trophies with Glasstown Brewing Company winning both the Community Inclusion and Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Chatham-Kent’s first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Coordinator, Rebecca Haskel-Thomas was honoured with the Building Bridges Award, sponsored by Walpole Island Employment & Training Centre.

Three community builders were honoured posthumously with the late Aaron VanDorsselaer, Dennis Debot, and Jen Anthony recognized as this year’s Legacy winners.

Nominations for this year’s awards were made online with winners selected by a judging panel from outside the Wallaceburg area.
