Chatham-Kent’s hospital is offering extended hours for X-ray services due to an ongoing external workers’ strike.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has expanded hours for x-ray walk-in patients from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chatham site and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wallaceburg site from Monday to Friday.
Patients in Chatham-Kent requiring ultrasound appointments are asked to fax requisitions to the Patient Appointment Office at 519-437-6040.
Hospital officials said CKHA is currently experiencing longer than normal wait times in its Diagnostic Imaging Department due to an external labour disruption involving X-ray and ultrasound technologists.
Around 130 unionized workers with Clear Medical Imaging began strike action on October 25. The diagnostic imaging clinic has 11 clinics in Chatham, Windsor, Tecumseh, LaSalle, and Essex.
