An automated licence plate scanner has helped to take an alleged suspended driver off the road in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer on general patrol was alerted by their automated licence plate recognition system at around 8:40 p.m. on Monday.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Centre Road near Schoolhouse Line.
As a result, a 29-year-old from Chatham-Kent was arrested and is now charged with driving while under suspension, driving without insurance, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, and failing to apply for a permit.
