Doctor Recruitment Campaign Enters Home Stretch in Wallaceburg

A campaign to help bring more family doctors to Wallaceburg is entering the home stretch.

The fundraiser was announced October 24 with a goal of raising $100,000 over eight weeks to help attract three new family physicians to the Wallaceburg Community Medical Centre.

Fundraising began in earnest on November 7. So far $81,860 has been raised with the campaign set to wrap up December 31.

A final push planned for Thursday, December 19. 99.1 FM CKXS is hosting a radiothon from 10am until 2pm, accepting donations at the radio station at 520 James Street in Wallaceburg or by calling 519-627-0991.

Donations throughout the physician recruitment campaign can also be dropped off at Riversite Realty on James Street in Wallaceburg, with cheques made payable to the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team. CLICK HERE to donate online.

Officials at the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team estimate there are roughly 3000 people in need of a family doctor in Wallaceburg.
