Three Wallaceburg residents are facing trafficking charges following a drug bust in Thamesville.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers with the Lambton County Community Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Road just after midnight on January 2 as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and carfentanyl with an estimated street value of around $27,700. Other offence-related property was also seized.

As a result, a 39-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, all from Wallaceburg, are each facing two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Following bail hearings, the 37-year-old has been remanded into custody and will answer the charges in court later this month. The other two suspects have been released with court dates scheduled for February.
