Police are appealing to the public for help identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in Petrolia.
The Ontario Provincial Police said the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road at the intersection of Petrolia Line at West Street when they were struck by a pickup truck as it was reversed, at around 1:30 p.m. on December 27, 2024.
The driver failed to remain at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have now released a photo of the vehicle, a black Toyota Tundra, which can be viewed above.
The driver or owner of the vehicle is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible. Anyone with information about this incident is also asked to contact the Lambton County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
