Jubenville Running Provincially Once Again

A local councillor is taking another run at provincial politics.

Rhonda Jubenville, who is in the midst of her first term serving on municipal council in Chatham-Kent, has announced she is running for the New Blue Party in Chatham-Kent-Leamington.

Jubenville took her first stab at politics as a New Blue candidate in the 2022 general provincial election, placing fourth with 3.37% of the vote. She then ran municipally, winning one of two seats in North Kent.

Only two other parties have candidates in the race in Chatham-Kent-Leamington with just over two weeks until the February 27th election – incumbent Trevor Jones is running for the Progressive Conservatives, and Christian Sachs will carry the NDP banner.

The nomination deadline is 2pm on Thursday, February 13.
