A threatening voicemail at a local utility resulted in a police response in Chatham earlier this week.

According to a statement from officials at Entegrus, one of the organization’s employees received the threatening phone message Monday afternoon and police were called.

Officers quickly responded to the company’s office at 320 Queen Street and ensured the safety of everyone in the building.

“Entegrus would like to take this opportunity to remind the public that we take threats to our personal safety extremely seriously,” the utility said in a social media post.

CKXS News has contacted the Chatham-Kent Police Service for further details on the incident, however, no information was provided ahead of publication.
