An author with southwestern Ontario roots is celebrating the launch of her first book this weekend.

Margaret Schleier-Stahl will be discussing Choosing Pearls – A New Strand of Stories at the Retro Suites Hotel in Chatham on Sunday. The book includes over two dozen stories corresponding with each letter of the alphabet, anecdotes of her life and the world around her.

Schleier-Stahl grew up in Windsor but now calls Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley home.

“The analogy is that some of the harshest debris on this planet makes some of the most exquisite pearls; that analogy is what I have applied to my life today,” Schleier-Stahl says. “Somehow divine intervention stepped in and many of the stories in the book are pivotal to the global climate and what seems to be current unprecedented times.”

Schleier-Stahl will be reading excerpts and signing copies of her book in the Retro Suites Derby Room from 2 until 5pm on Sunday. Choosing Pearls is also available for purchase at Turns and Tales in downtown Chatham.
