
A small earthquake shook the ground near Ridgetown late last week.
Chatham-Kent Police received several 911 calls around 5:45 Friday afternoon about what some thought might have been an explosion with numerous tremors felt in the area.
Emergency services quickly responded to the area, but found no signs of a blast.
Officials reached out to Environment Canada, and confirmed an earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale took place at 5:40 that afternoon, roughly 30 kilometres east of Chatham.
No injuries or property damage have been reported.
