The municipality is recognizing the goals and contributions of Chatham-Kent’s older adults as part of Seniors’ Month in June.
Nominations are now open for the Chatham-Kent Senior Achievement Awards to recognize and honour local residents 60 and over. Award recipients will be honoured as part of the 38th annual Senior Achievement Awards during the Aging Well Conference on June 4 at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club.
The winners will be chosen by an impartial selection committee endorsed by CK Mayor Darrin Canniff.
“We are requesting the public’s assistance to identify seniors who are making Chatham-Kent a better place to live,” said Canniff in a news release. “Everyone knows someone who has lent a helping hand, whether it be as part of a group or as an individual. Here is your chance to let us know about that person so we can recognize their contributions.”
Nominations can be submitted online by clicking here or by calling 519-360-1998 ext. 3001. The deadline for submissions is April 13.
More than 1,000 Chatham-Kent residents have been honoured through the Senior Achievement Awards since its inception in the 1980s.
