
A boil water advisory has been put in place for residents in Mitchell’s Bay, Grande Pointe, and Bass Haven.
Officials with Chatham-Kent Public Health say the advisory was put in place following a loss of pressure through the water distribution system.
Residents are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before to using it for domestic purposes, such as drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice. Safe bottled water sources can also be used for consumption.
Affected areas:
Mitchell’s Bay
- Winterline Rd
- Bay Line up to and including the community of Mitchell’s Bay
- Winterline Rd north of Mitchell’s Bay up to and including Haven Line and Bassette Line
Grande Pointe
- 7219 St. Philippes Line and properties to the west up to the intersection of St. Philippes Line and Winterline Rd
- 7142 & 7143 St. Philippes Line and properties to the west up to 25658 Jacob Rd
- Jacob Rd – south of St. Philippes Line to 25507 Jacob Rd
- Big Pointe Rd – North of St. Philippes Line up to 6481 Mallard Line
- All customers on municipal water north of the intersection of St. Philippes Line and Winterline Rd including 7255 Marsh Line and 7202 Angler Line
- Angler Line west of Winterline Rd up to and including North Waterfront Res, Richmond Rd & North St
The advisory will remain in place until the Health Unit receives more information from the water operator. CK Public Health is working closely with the Public Utilities Commission.
