With the summer season just around the corner, a local camp is looking for a few helping hands.

Officials at Kenesserie Camp in Ridgetown are holding a spring cleanup day on Saturday as the site prepares to welcome more than 800 elementary students for year-end field trips, 15 community groups for retreats and weekend gatherings, and 500 kids for overnight programs through the summer.

Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks, including raking leaves, clearing trails and brush, cleaning cabins, staff housing, and the kitchen, and moving and repairing benches and picnic tables. Participants are encouraged to bring any useful tools they may have.

“Kenesserie Camp has been a place of community and growth for over a century, and we’re excited to prepare for another busy season,” said Dan Richards, Executive Director. “This cleanup day is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and ensure Kenesserie is at its best for the hundreds of children and adults who will enjoy its facilities this year.”

All volunteers will be provided with lunch, and high school students can earn volunteer hours.

Cleanup day runs from 9am to 3pm. Visit Kenesserie.com to register.
