A recent donation is helping to improve the quality of life for residents receiving end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Hospice has purchased two myAirVO 2 machines to provide advanced respiratory support for residents, thanks to a $7,500 grant from the South Kent Wind Community Fund.
Hospice officials said the machines alleviate discomfort and reduce symptoms of breathlessness, which is a common and distressing issue for many hospice patients.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has committed to providing ongoing maintenance for the two oxygen machines, as well as training for hospice staff.
