A young Walpole Island child has died following a tragic crash in St Clair Township.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of St Clair Parkway and West Smith Line in Sobmra around 6:50 Tuesday evening following a single-vehicle collision involving an SUV.
Lambton OPP say all four occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital. Three people suffered life-threatening injuries, however a six-year-old child was later pronounced dead in hospital. Authorities say the driver sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Lambton OPP, including the Crime Unit and OPP West Region Traffic Management Enforcement Team continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
