This weekend marks an annual celebration of Indigenous culture.
The 31st annual Walpole Island Spring PowWow is taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the Walpole Island Sports Complex Fairgrounds, celebrating community, culture, spirituality, and friendship.
This year’s theme is “Reviving our Old Ways” with festivities include drumming, dancing, and singing groups. Vendors will be on hand offering authentic Indigenous cuisine and crafts.
Grand Entries will take place at noon and 6pm on Saturday, and again at noon on Sunday.
The Pow Wow is open to the public and free to attend.
