From humble beginnings as a simple car cruise and classic car show, RetroFest is now celebrating its 25th year in downtown Chatham.
The annual event kicks off on Friday with live entertainment, vendors, food trucks, and a kid zone in Tecumseh Park starting at 3 p.m. A parking lot party will also be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. behind the Retro Suites Hotel.
Hot rods and custom classics will line up along King Street on Saturday for the Car Show, while the entertainment continues in Tecumseh Park. The vendors and food will be returning to the park, along with the Ms. RetroFest Pageant, Soap Box Derby, and Car Show awards.
Fireworks will also be held at the park from 9:10 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Organizers said they expect more than 30,000 people will attend this year’s event, which has been regularly ranked among Ontario’s top 100 festivals.
