More Measles Exposure Points Identified in Chatham

More measles exposure points have been identified in Chatham-Kent.

Officials with Chatham-Kent Public Health say anyone who was at Chatham Chrysler on Richmond Street between 2:55pm until 5 on Friday, May 16 or the back hallway behind the emergency department at the Chatham campus of the Health Alliance from 4:15 until 8pm on Monday, May 19 may have been exposed to the virus.

Anyone who was present during these timeframes and is not up-to-date with their vaccinations is urged to call CK Public Health at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.

According to the latest report published by Public Health Ontario, 131 cases of the measles virus have been reported in Chatham-Kent since January 1, which accounts for 10.5 per cent of all measles cases reported across the province this year.

If you are experiencing symptoms of measles and need to visit a healthcare provider, emergency department, or walk-in clinic, be sure to call ahead before attending.
