No injuries have been reported following a barn fire in Raleigh Township.

Chatham-Kent fire fighters from Raleigh North and Chatham responded to a structure fire on Eighth Line shortly before 9 o’clock Tuesday night.

Crews arrived to find a drive shed and barn fully engulfed in flames with reports there were still livestock inside.

Support from Station 16 Raleigh South and Station 17 Merlin were called in to help.

The flames were eventually brought under control and it was learned the livestock were actually safe in a pasture. However, one horse perished in the fire.

The cause of the blaze is listed as accidental with an estimated $400,000 in damage.
