Dragon boats will be hitting the water in Wallaceburg this weekend.
The annual Sydenham Challenge Dragon Boat Festival kicks off tomorrow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18.
Participating teams come from many diverse areas of the community, including professional teams, employee groups, community groups, and breast cancer survivor teams. One of the highlights of the event is the Breast Cancer Flower Ceremony, honouring those who have lost their battle, inspiring hope to those still fighting, and celebrating the strength of survivors.
James Street will be closed in downtown Wallaceburg between Nelson Street and Fork Street from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. for the event.
