While students are heading into the final week of class before the summer break, a local organization is already helping plan for the fall.
FreeHelpCK is collecting school supplies to support children in need through Operation Backpack.
Officials say they are specifically looking for things such as backpacks, lunch pails, scissors, calculators, pencil crayons, notebooks, and other back-to-school essentials.
Earlier this month, staff from Enbridge Gas donated 11 fully stocked backpacks.
Over the past six years, FreeHelpCK has distributed 5000 backpacks filled with essential supplies to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed.
