A Chatham woman is facing charges in connection to a collision in Essex County over the weekend.

Provincial Police responded to two-vehicle crash on Manning Road near County Road 46 in Tecumseh around 2 o’clock Saturday morning.

Authorities determined one of the drivers had been drinking and brought the suspect to the local detachment for tests.

The 40-year-old has since been charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. The accused was also issued a 90-day license suspension and had her vehicle impounded for one week.

The woman was released from custody, but will have to face a judge in a Windsor courtroom next week.
