An arrest has been made after several unauthorized transactions were detected using a stolen debit card.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman reported that her wallet had been stolen from her vehicle on July 18 and that someone had been using her debit card.
After reviewing video surveillance footage from multiple locations, investigators were able to identify a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located and arrested on Tuesday just before 10 a.m. at the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. He is now charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a credit card. He was later released from custody with a September court date.
