Canada Post and the union representing its workers are set to return to the bargaining table this week as the corporation reviews a new offer.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) submitted a new contract offer Wednesday after rejecting Canada Post’s final offer earlier this month.
The proposed contract from the union includes a wage increase above what the corporation offered, along with concessions for part-time employees.
Canada Post said it is reviewing the offer and its bargaining team will meet with the union on Friday, with another meeting scheduled for Monday.
Canada Post and CUPW have remained at a significant impasse since December 2024, despite 19 months of negotiations, four global offers, mediation, and an Industrial Inquiry Commission.
