A special fundraiser will be landing in Chatham next week.
Jordan’s Run the Runway 5K Series is a one-of-a-kind 5K run, walk, roll, or pole, taking place at airport runways across Southwestern Ontario.
The event will touch down at the Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport on Friday, September 5, starting at 5:30 pm.
This unique event series honours the life and legacy of Jordan Strickland, a YMCA community member, camper, and volunteer counsellor who was killed in a car accident in 2014.
Over the past 11 years, the annual charity event has raised over $1.6 million supporting greater access to YMCA camps, programs, and services that create lasting, life-changing experiences.
Proceeds from the event will stay in Chatham-Kent, providing financial assistance for community members to access YMCA programs and services.
Other Run the Runway events are planned for London on September 19 and Sarnia on October 3.
