Drug Trafficking Charge Laid Following Impaired Driving Stop

A Wallaceburg man has been arrested for drug trafficking after allegedly driving while high.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers conducted a traffic stop on Monday at around 2:30 a.m. on Arnold Street in Wallaceburg.

Believing the driver was impaired, he was arrested. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle.

Following an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert, a 36-year-old man from Wallaceburg was charged with impaired driving and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He will answer the charges in court later this month.
