Chatham-Kent’s cultural history is once again stepping into the spotlight with the addition of eight new names to the community’s Cultural Hall of Fame.

Formerly called the CK Arts & Culture Heroes Wall of Fame, the 4th annual induction ceremony is being held next week at the Chatham Cultural Centre, honouring the class of 2025 for contributions to the world of arts and culture at home and beyond.

This year’s inductees include double Gemini nominee Tracey Hoyt for Performing Arts, author and historian Bryan Prince in the Literary Arts category, ballet dancer Patrick Kastoff in Dance, pop surrealist painter Troy Brooks for Visual Arts, screen composer Stephanie Copeland for Music, and Sam Panopoulos as a Cultural Builder.

Two legacy nominees, Ken Crone and Shelton Brooks, will also be honoured.

“Our eight inductees represent unwavering commitment and ongoing dedication to their chosen fields. Their passion has contributed to the region’s cultural landscape while shaping the world around us,” said CK Arts Council Board Chair Laurie Langford in a news release. “Each time I look at the names and faces displayed at the Cultural Centre, I am deeply inspired by the many and diverse people who hail from CK, and their contributions to the arts and culture we see around us every day.”

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Kiwanis Theatre on Thursday, October 23rd. A reception will begin at 6 o’clock in Studio One followed by the ceremony at 7.

The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent through the Together CK Community Events grant program and Waste Connections of Canada, operator of the Ridge Landfill.
