A Petrolia man has been arrested, facing child pornography charges.

As part of an investigation involving members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with assistance from the Lambton Detachment of the OPP, Chatham-Kent Police Service, and members of the OPP Digital Forensics Unit, a search warrant was carried out on October 7th.

A 77-year-old man was arrested and officers seized a number of electronic devices.

The accused is now facing two counts of possession of child pornography. He was released from custody following a bail hearing and will be back in court in January.

Meantime, a 32-year-old from Corunna was arrested the following day as part of a separate investigation involving Lambton OPP.

Officers seized a number of electronic devices from a home and the accused is now also charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

Authorities say they remain committed to identifying and pursuing individuals who use technology to exploit them.
