A Leamington man is facing impaired driving charges following a collision that sent a Wheatley woman to hospital.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a head-on collision between two vehicles on Erie Street North in Wheatley, shortly before 6 p.m. on Thursday.
A 57-year-old Wheatley woman who was driving one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries has not been released.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 39-year-old Leamington man, was arrested and taken to OPP police headquarters in Leamington for breath tests. As a result, he is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
He has since been released from custody with a future court date.
