Chatham-Kent’s hospital is launching a new service to support expecting parents.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has announced that it will be introducing in-person tours of the Women and Children’s Unit for families preparing for childbirth.

The tours will be led by CKHA volunteers, giving parents a chance to become familiar with the unit’s layout, services, and amenities before their delivery date.

Hospital officials said the tours will be a supportive and informative experience to help ease any anxiety and provide a sense of comfort and readiness.

“Tours of our Women and Children’s Unit is an important step in supporting families as they prepare for one of the most meaningful moments of their lives,” said Fannie Vavoulis, director of patient experience and communications.
