One of Chatham-Kent’s hydro providers has donated tens of thousands of dollars to benefit local children with physical and developmental needs.
Entegrus recently made a $200,000 donation to the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent to support the centre’s new 55,000-square-foot facility on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
Foundation President and CEO Mike Genge said the donation will help bring the new facility closer to completion.
“We are deeply grateful to Entegrus for their longstanding partnership and generous support,” said Genge in a news release. “This $200,000 donation plays a vital role in helping us complete a space designed to meet the growing needs of the centre.”
The project is expected to be finished toward the end of 2026.
The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent currently provides services to more than 3,700 children and youth with special needs. The centre’s new building is expected to provide additional space to reduce wait times for rehabilitation services such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and autism services.
Entegrus is also supporting the Blenheim Youth Centre with a $10,000 donation made on behalf of its shareholder, Corix District Energy Holdings. Officials say this contribution will help the Blenheim Youth Centre continue to offer programs that build confidence, responsibility, and social connection for youth in the Blenheim area.
“Both Entegrus and Corix believe that strong communities start with strong youth,” said Jim Hogan, President & CEO of Entegrus. “The Blenheim Youth Centre provides a safe and supportive space where young people grow, connect, and thrive. We’re proud of the opportunity to support their ongoing work.”
