Charges have been laid after a man attended a local hospital with a knife wound on his foot.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an employee with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance contacted officers at around 1 p.m. on Sunday after a man attended the emergency department seeking medical treatment.
The 45-year-old victim reported that he had been involved in a physical altercation when another man threw a knife at him, causing an injury to the victim’s toe.
Authorities later located and arrested a suspect. The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He will answer the charges in court next month.
