
Charges have been laid after an unruly man struck a police officer at the Chatham hospital.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Grand Avenue West at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
When police arrived, a man was found lying on the floor inside the building and refusing to leaveĀ As police attempted to take him into custody, the man resisted and struck one of the officers.
The officer did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident.
A 30-year-old Tilbury man is now charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
