
More rain is expected in the region over the next few days, prompting a special weather statement from Environment Canada.
The agency says some areas could see as much as 20-40mm of rain, however saturated or frozen ground will have little ability to absorb the additional moisture.
Officials say heavy downpours may cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, and localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas.
Both the Lower Thames Valley and St Clair Region Conservation Authorities have issued flood watches, and staff continue to monitor watershed conditions.
According to the SCRCA, water levels in the region remain high, with many smaller watercourses still over top of their banks and flooding low-lying areas.
The LTVCA statement says levels on the lower Thames River will continue to rise for at least another few days.
