High praise for a local construction company.

Chatham-based Maple City Homes Ltd. was awarded the “Rising Star of the Year Award” by ENERQUALITY, certifier of energy efficient housing in Canada.

The honour recognizes builders demonstrating leadership in constructing high-performance, energy-efficient homes that meet rigorous certification standards. ENERQUALITY-certified homes must undergo independent performance verification, including blower door testing to measure air tightness and overall building efficiency.

“Maple City Homes stood out for their strong commitment to energy-efficient construction and their rapid expansion within the ENERGY STAR for New Homes program,” said ENERQUALITY CEO Joe Vaccaro in a news release. “Their ability to consistently deliver high-performance homes reflects their leadership and forward-looking approach that is advancing the industry.”

Maple City Homes’ partner and co-owner Trevor Mailloux accepted the award at the Building Innovation Forum and Awards in Toronto on March 12.
