Charges have been laid after a woman was choked and assaulted during a domestic incident in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a report of intimate partner violence at a Chatham residence on Saturday at around 10 a.m.
Authorities learned that a man had thrown objects at the victim, who had also been physically assaulted by choking, causing non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result, a 25-year-old Chatham man is now charged with assault and two counts of assault causing bodily harm. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
