
An arrest has been made following the theft of a debit card in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an 18-year-old woman reported on October 20, 2025, that her debit card had been stolen from a restaurant on St. Clair Street. She also discovered that several unauthorized transactions had been made the same day, using the stolen card.
Officers were able to identify a suspect by reviewing video surveillance footage, and an arrest warrant was issued.
The suspect, a 46-year-old Raleigh Township man, was located on Queens Line just before 9 p.m. on Friday and was arrested. He is now charged with fraud under $5,000, unauthorized use of a credit card, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The accused was later released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
