
A Chatham man is facing several charges after a violent assault.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham residence shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report that a man was breaching a probation order.
Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old victim had suffered injuries after being assaulted and was taken to hospital.
A 23-year-old Chatham man, who was allegedly violating court-ordered conditions by being at the residence, was arrested at the scene.
The accused is now charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
