A local theatre company is looking forward to the year ahead.

Theatre Kent has unveiled the lineup for its 2026-27 season with a healthy dose of Canadiana.

The season will begin with Come From Away, the hit musical based on events in Gander, Newfoundland in the wake of the September 11th attacks in the United States. Directed by Brock MacKenzie, the show will take to the Capitol Theatre stage November 12-14.

Next up is God of Carnage, a play by Yasmina Reza and directed by Ruth Baleka, with performances at St. Andrew’s Fellowship Hall in Chatham March 6 and 7. The story follows two sets of parents trying to sort out a fight between their sons.

A Disney-Pixar classic takes to the stage in April with Finding Nemo Jr. The children’s musical based on the 2003 film will be directed by Stacie Dengel and choreographed by Jenny Doyle, however the venue and exact dates are still being decided.

Theatre Kent wraps up its 2026-27 season with a Canadian play, Shorthanded: A Ladies Game by Elmira’s Michael Grant. Directed by Josh Reaume, the two-act play focuses on eight women during their championship hockey game, exploring themes of friendship, aging, and mid-life challenges. Performances are set to take place May 14 and 15 at the Kiwanis Theatre.
