An arrest has been made after a beer can was hurled at a woman in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to an address on Gillard Street shortly before 10 p.m. on March 26 following an assault.
Authorities said an unknown woman approached and asked to use the victim’s cell phone. However, when the request was refused, the woman threw a can of beer at the victim’s chest.
The victim provided officers with video surveillance of the incident and a description of the woman, and was later able to identify a suspect through a Facebook group.
As a result, a 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested by Walpole Island police on Monday. Police have not released what charges the accused is facing.
