Brian Machado
Brian Machado is a lifelong Chatham-Kent resident, hospitality teacher at the local Catholic high school, executive chef, local business owner, husband, and proud father of four. He has been married to his wife, Christina Machado, for 23 years, and together they have built both a strong family and deep roots within the community.
For the past 20 years, Brian has owned and operated local businesses including Churrascaria Steakhouse, Nova Vida Bakery, and his catering company, where he also serves as the executive chef. Through his businesses, Brian has created local jobs while supporting countless community events, fundraisers, galas, local sports teams, youth activities, and charitable initiatives across Chatham-Kent. Giving back to the community has always been a major part of both his business and personal life.
Growing up in Chatham-Kent, Brian has always believed in the importance of community involvement, family values, and supporting local residents. Through decades of working directly with people every day, he understands the challenges facing families, the homeless population, seniors, small businesses, and large employers throughout the community. He believes Chatham-Kent needs leadership that brings people together to create real solutions while protecting the strong sense of community that makes the municipality special.
Brian is running for Municipal Council ward 6 because he believes Chatham-Kent deserves leadership that is accessible, accountable, transparent, and focused on the people. He believes a unified Chatham-Kent is a stronger Chatham-Kent, and that Council must work together for the benefit of every area within the municipality. Brian believes what is good for Chatham-Kent is good for the surrounding communities, and what is good for the surrounding communities is good for Chatham-Kent as a whole. He believes leadership starts with listening to residents, speaking clearly, working together respectfully, and making decisions that reflect the needs of the people.
Brian is passionate about responsible spending, improving local infrastructure, supporting recreation and youth opportunities, strengthening public safety, and creating an environment where families and businesses can grow and succeed.
Brian wants to help build a future where young people can stay in Chatham-Kent, build careers, raise families of their own, and continue contributing to the community for generations to come. His goal is simple: to be a strong voice for residents and help make Chatham-Kent a community families are proud to call home.

Experience with Clairvue Co-Op, Housing as Finance Chair and Board of Directors.
I am a Christian, follower of Jesus Christ for over 37 years, and have held positions of Chair of Finance, Secretary of the Board, and Board Elder.
Why Am I Runing for Council:
On January 1, 2028, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent will be celebrating 30 years of Amalgamation. However, I do not believe most would consider it a celebration. We certainly have had strong opposition over the years. However, these past few years something has changed and not for the better. The spiritual temperature within our Municipality has changed; people have become very critical of the governance of the Municipality. Anger, hostility, and lack of trust are very evident. Division has become the rule of the day, not just within our communities wanting to de-amalgamate but also within our council meetings there is strong evidence of division.
My hope is for restoration, to build unity and trust across our Municipality, with servant leaders who put the interests of our citizens first. That we would cohesively work together to create a brighter future.
